Introduction: Schizophrenia is a mental health problem that causes abnormalities in an individual's thoughts, perceptions, emotions, and behavior. Schizophrenia is considered a disease process with various variations and dissimilar symptoms that require family support. Family support plays a crucial role in preventing relapse and ensuring patient adherence to regular medication, which is highly beneficial in managing schizophrenia symptoms.

Purpose: The purpose of this study aims to determine the relationship between family support and adherence to taking medication with the relapse rate of schizophrenia patients.

Methods: The design used in this study is a correlation description with a cross-sectional approach and a sample of 31 respondents. The sampling technique used total sampling, with data collection methods through family support instruments, drug compliance, and schizophrenia relapse rates with analysis using the Spearman Rank test.

Results: Nearly half of schizophrenia patients had good family support, most patients had high medication adherence, and nearly half of schizophrenia patients had low relapse rates. In addition, the results of this study showed that there was a relationship between family support and the relapse rate of schizophrenia patients with a p-value of 0.000. There is a relationship between medication adherence and relapse rates in schizophrenia patients with a p-value of 0.000.

Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between family support and the relapse rate of schizophrenia patients and there is a relationship between adherence to taking medication with the relapse rate of schizophrenia patients.
