Abstract

Background: sectio caesarea is a surgical procedure to remove the fetus, postoperative Sectio caesarea, the patient will experience pain due to the surgical process As a result of postoperative pain, the patient becomes immobile or restricts movement which causes the Activity of daily living to be disrupted. Early mobilization is a non-pharmacological therapy that aims to increase independence. Objective: The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was an effect of early mobilization on daily living activity in postoperative patients with cesarean section.

Method: This study is quantitative research, using quasi-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test design. With purposive sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 50 respondents from 99 population per month. The measuring tool used was an activity daily living (ADL) observation sheet. Early mobilization interventions were carried out at 6 hours, 10 hours, and 24 hours postoperative sectio caesarea. Data were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test.

Results: Activty daily living in pretest sectio caesarea patients was mostly dependent (66%). The daily living activity in post-sectio caesarea patients was mostly independent (70%). There was an effect of early mobilization on dayli living activity in postoperative patients with a p-value (0.000).

Conclusion: mobilization is carried out regularly/uninterruptedly in the first 6 hours, the second 10 hours, up to the third 24 hours, for 2 days can increase the independence of daily living activities (ADL).
